The Impact

450+ Stickers Made

75 Activation Participants

Increased Event Excitement

The DIY Sticker Activation was one of the most engaging and valuable experiences of the event. It created something uniquely tangible that could be used for promotion, networking, and brand awareness. The activation wall sparked conversations with other business owners and professionals and created a visualization of how the audience markets to their audience.

The Challenge

43North, a community organization that invests $5 million annually into high-growth companies in Buffalo, NY, sought a unique and interactive brand activation for their annual Small Business Marketing Summit. With over 300 small business owners and marketing professionals in attendance, the goal was to create an experience that resonated with the event’s theme while providing value and engagement for participants.

Insight

Attendees at the summit were eager for hands-on, meaningful engagement that would reflect their businesses while also contributing to a larger conversation about marketing in Buffalo. The activation needed to be easy to participate in, highly visual, and leave attendees with something tangible to take home

The Concept

EPIC Promotionals brought the vision to life with a DIY Sticker Activation designed to empower small business owners. Attendees filled out a form providing their business name, description, URL, and color preferences. On-site, the EPIC Events team printed custom stickers in real-time, giving each participant a personalized takeaway. Additionally, a 10' x 6' interactive board posed the question:
"How Does Buffalo Market to Its Audience?"

Participants placed their stickers on a four-quadrant graph, categorizing their marketing approach along Online vs. In-Person and Paid vs. Organic axes. The result was a striking visual representation of how Buffalo’s small businesses connect with their audiences. EPIC designed, fabricated, delivered, and staffed the activation at Seneca One Tower in Buffalo, NY.

The Experience

The activation was a major success, drawing 75 active participants and generating over 450 printed stickers. The interactive board became a centerpiece of the event, sparking discussions and engagement among attendees. The final display provided valuable insights into the local marketing landscape, creating a powerful, community-driven data visualization.

With over 300 attendees, the activation was widely embraced, offering a meaningful and memorable takeaway that went beyond traditional event swag. Through innovation and seamless execution, EPIC Promotionals delivered an activation that was not only fun but also strategic, insightful, and deeply connected to the event's theme and audience.
